Secure and Protected Data

Icon Systems, takes a variety of measures to insure the security and protection of your church data. IconCMO incorporates security of access control much like those in a Windows based system except three pieces of information (phone number, user name and password) is required for access rather than user name and password.

Almost all the Windows based products utilize an Access type of database. Unfortunately, this means that a person doesn’t need to know user names and passwords to access the data because they can do it through common Microsoft utilities such as Excel or Access. Because of the security breach our products use a different data structure disallowing access by common utilities.

Daily Data Backups
Backups of all data are done nightly and stored for 30 days on local network storage and 1 monthly backup is archived for a 12 month period. Offsite backups are done once a week to a secure location in the unlikely event that catastrophic events occur at our data center.

Daily backups are retained locally for quick access. Backups are also electronically sent to a different geographic location located in a different state to provide protection from natural disasters.

Physical Backup Redundancy
There are controls in place such that the data can be recovered in the event of a catastrophe such as fire, lightening, theft, etc. Every year data is destroyed in thousands of installations through unexpected events. And when it happens, too frequently the backup is either not current or is kept in the same location and lost as well.

With Church Management Online your data is housed in a building specifically designed for computer security and safety. Features such as special access codes and backup power generators provide protection from unauthorized people and electrical failures. All of the facility equipment is operating while the UPS and generator are standing by. In case of a power emergency, the UPS takes over. The generator then starts up to provide uninterrupted power flow until the outage is fixed.

Secure Transmission of Data
With IconCMO - Church Management Online your data is encrypted as it travels over the Internet guaranteeing you the safety you expect. IconCMO is protected with 128-bit encryption, the strongest data encryption available. All transmitted data uses this encryption, similar to what is used by online banking systems. This additional feature is provided at no additional cost, unlike other web-based solutions which can cost an additional $300 or more per year.
